Guido's Ear  is an early music ensemble specializing in repertoire of the late Renaissance and early Baroque, a pivotal period in history where instrumental music emerged from the shadow of vocal music and came into its own. Founded by Aaron Brown and Dongmyung Ahn, Guido’s Ear presents concerts that explore both the early forays into purely instrumental music and the vocal and dance traditions they come from. The sheer ingenuity of music in this period is truly breathtaking, as composers pushed the boundaries of musical aesthetics to their breaking point and founded an entirely new musical style. Based in New York City, Guido’s Ear has performed at venues including the Connecticut Early Music Festival, Vanderbilt University's Great Performances, The City University of New York’s Graduate Center and Queens College.
